What is SquarePicks?
SquarePicks is a sports squares sweepstakes platform. Pick squares on a 10x10 grid based on real-world sports games and win if your square's assigned numbers match the score digits at key moments.
Is SquarePicks gambling?
No. SquarePicks operates as a legal promotional sweepstakes, not gambling. All games are promotional sweepstakes. Winners are determined by random chance. No purchase is necessary to participate—a free entry is always available. These games are not lotteries, gambling, or games of skill.
Where is SquarePicks available?
SquarePicks is available to eligible residents (21+) physically located in US states where sweepstakes are permitted. The app automatically verifies your location. Void where prohibited.
How old do I need to be to play?
You must be 21 years of age or older to create an account and participate.
Gameplay & Rules
How does the grid work?
Each board is a 10x10 grid with 100 squares (numbered 0-99). After the board fills, numbers 0-9 are randomly assigned to rows and columns. Your square is determined by where your row and column numbers intersect.
When are numbers assigned?
Numbers are assigned randomly only after a board is completely full (all 100 squares sold) or when the game starts (for the free sweepstakes board). This ensures fairness.
How are winners determined?
At the end of each quarter (Q1, Halftime, Q3, Final), the system checks the last digit of each team's score. The square matching those digits wins that period.
How many winners per board?
Four winners per board:
- Q1 Winner: 20% of pot
- Halftime Winner: 20% of pot
- Q3 Winner: 20% of pot
- Final Winner: 20% of pot
Can I win multiple times?
Yes! If your square's numbers match at multiple scoring periods, you win each period separately.
What happens if a game is canceled?
All entries are voided and entry fees are automatically refunded to your account balance.
What happens if a board doesn't fill?
Incomplete paid boards are canceled when the game starts. All entry fees are refunded. The free sweepstakes board proceeds regardless of fill status.
Entry Fees & Payouts
What are the entry fee options?
- $1 per square
- $5 per square
- $10 per square
- $20 per square
How is the prize pot calculated?
Pot = Entry Fee × 100 squares × 80%
Example for a $5 board:
- Total collected: $500
- Platform fee (20%): $100
- Prize pot (80%): $400
- Each quarter winner: $100
When are winnings paid?
Winnings are credited instantly to your account balance when each quarter ends.
What is the platform fee?
SquarePicks retains 20% of total entry fees. The remaining 80% is paid out to the four quarter winners.
Account & Payments
How do I deposit funds?
Go to the Deposit page and complete payment through PayPal. Minimum: $5, Maximum: $1,000 per transaction.
What payment methods are accepted?
Currently, we accept PayPal only. You can fund PayPal with your bank account, debit card, or credit card.
How do I withdraw my winnings?
Go to the Withdraw page, enter your amount and PayPal email. Minimum: $5. Withdrawals are processed daily at 2:00 PM ET.
Why do I need to verify my identity?
Identity verification is required by law for sweepstakes, payment processing, and tax reporting. It helps ensure you meet eligibility requirements and prevents fraud.
Why do you need my SSN?
SSN is required for tax purposes. If you win over $600 net in a year, we're legally required to issue a 1099-MISC form.
Is my information safe?
Yes. We use industry-standard encryption and secure data practices. We don't sell your information. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Free Entry (Sweepstakes)
Can I play for free?
Yes! Each user gets one free entry per week into the "Premium Game of the Week" board.
How do I claim my free entry?
- Go to the Sweepstakes tab in the Lobby
- Accept the terms
- Select one available square
- Confirm your entry
Does free entry have the same odds?
Yes. Free entries have identical odds of winning as paid entries.
What happens to unclaimed free squares?
Unclaimed squares become "house squares" when the game starts and are not eligible to win.
Technical Issues
The app isn't loading. What should I do?
- Check your internet connection
- Force close and reopen the app
- Clear browser cache (if using web)
- Try a different device/browser
- Contact support if issues persist
Why can't I access the app from my location?
SquarePicks uses geolocation to verify you're in an eligible state. Ensure location services are enabled and you're physically in an eligible state.
I didn't receive my winnings. What happened?
Winnings are credited automatically. Check your transaction history. If you believe there's an error, contact support with the board ID and game details.
